Analysis - This is where the designers sit down with the clients and discuss in detial what the program must do & how it does it. The clients and designers must agree on the program and then sign the program specification(This is a legally binding contract).

Techniques -

The designer sits down with the clients and has a interview discussing what the program does, Once it is agreed apon they both sign a legally binding contract. A Blob Diagram is used to do the inputs & outputs of the program.
